Friedrich Kollarz

Friedrich Kollarz (born November 5, 1876 in Braunau am Inn , Upper Austria , † February 24, 1934 in Vienna ) was an Austrian officer and politician .

Life

Friedrich Kollarz - his place of birth is often wrongly given as Vienna - graduated from the cadet school as a young man , from which he graduated in 1897. Then he was assigned to the 102nd Infantry Regiment, where he was used until the First World War . In 1898 he was promoted to lieutenant , and in 1912 he was appointed captain .

In April 1917 he was assigned to the Air Force as a soldier , where he was promoted to major in 1918 . Most recently, he was in command of the artillery . After the lost war, Kollarz was initially taken over as a soldier by the Republic of Austria in December 1918 , but retired in November 1920 with the rank of lieutenant colonel .

In November 1920, Kollarz, who himself did not belong to any party, was elected to the National Council ( 1st legislative period ) with a mandate from the Greater German People's Party . He held his mandate for three years and resigned from parliament in November 1923.

In the years to come, Kollarz campaigned for former professional soldiers to receive a state-funded pension. As early as 1918 he was one of the co-founders of the trade association of professional military gagists , of which he became honorary president in 1923. In 1920 he was also one of the initiators of the Österreichische Wehrzeitung , a newspaper designed for soldiers and veterans. Most recently he became second president of the Austrian Black Cross .
