Friedrich Landwehrmann

Friedrich Landwehrmann (born April 29, 1934 in Oberhausen ; † December 26, 2013 ) was a German sociologist .

Life

Landwehrmann studied sociology, business administration and economics at the universities of Hamburg, Munich and Münster from 1956 to 1960 . From 1961 to 1963 he worked as a researcher at the social research center at the University of Münster , based in Dortmund , and then until 1968 as a research assistant at the Institute for Sociology at the Ruhr University in Bochum . It was 1964 in Münster for Dr. rer. pole. doctorate and habilitation in 1968 in Bochum. There he became managing director of the Institute for Work Sociology and Labor Policy in 1969.

In 1971, Landwehrmann accepted a professorship for sociology at the University of Mainz . There he headed the “Industry and Operations” department. Manfred Hennen and Wolfgang-Ulrich Prigge completed their habilitation under him . His main research areas included regional and urban sociology , work, industrial and organizational sociology . In his research he often used methods of empirical social research. From 1971 to 1977 he was a member of the Commission for Economic and Social Change and from 1983 to 1987 he was a member of the scientific support committee for experiments with broadband cables in the Ludwigshafen / Vorderpfalz region.

After his retirement , Landwehrmann lived in Spain.
