Manfred Hennen

Manfred Hennen (born October 19, 1939 in Berlin-Charlottenburg ; † January 12, 2018 in Heidenrod ) was a German sociologist .

Life

From 1959 to 1966 he studied philosophy, social and economic sciences at the Universities of Mainz and Cologne (1966: Diplom-Volkswirt). From 1968 to 1973 he was a research assistant and research assistant at the Institute for Sociology at the University of Mainz with Friedrich Jonas and Friedrich Landwehrmann . After receiving his doctorate in 1973 as Dr. phil. in sociology and political science (philosophy work on Max Weber's concept of rationality) he was visiting professor at the University of Nebraska in 1974 . After completing his habilitation in sociology in 1986 (social motivation and paradoxical consequences of action), he was a liaison professor at the German National Academic Foundation from 1990 to 2002 . Since 1992 he has been an adjunct professor at the Institute for Sociology at the University of Mainz (1992–1999 - head of the model project for the promotion of study and teaching at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz / 1999–2002 - head of the “Center for Quality Assurance and Development” / 2002 –2006 - Member of the Advisory Board of the Center for Evaluation (CEval) of the University of Saarbrücken , from 2006 speaker).
