from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Friedrich Latendorf (born October 10, 1866 in Schwerin , † November 8, 1935 there ) was a German painter.

Life

Friedrich Latendorf was a son of the high school teacher of the same name, Friedrich Latendorf . He received his training from 1886 to 1891 at the art school in Weimar, among others with Leopold von Kalckreuth . He then worked in Berlin until around 1889 and then lived in Schwerin and with his sister Doris in Schönberg in Mecklenburg , who ran a private girls' school there. From 1906 the siblings lived in Schwerin. Latendorf found the motifs of his genre pictures, histories and landscapes predominantly in rural life. But he also made portraits and caricatures. He was represented with a summer landscape at the art exhibition in the Munich Glass Palace in 1894. The State Museum Schwerin owns several of his works.
