Friedrich Loock

Friedrich Loock (born October 20, 1959 in Bocholt , Westphalia ) is a German business graduate, cultural manager and scholar; From 1998 to 2015 he was full professor for cultural management at the State University for Music and Theater in Hamburg and director of the local institute for culture and media management .

Professional background

Friedrich Loock completed his school career with the Abitur in Bocholt / Westphalia and from 1979 studied business administration and journalism at the University of Bielefeld and at the Free University of Berlin . After completing his degree in business administration, he underwent on-the-job training between 1984 and 1986 in conjunction with the management consultancy Arthur D. Little , which he completed as a senior consultant .

Between 1987 and 1989 Friedrich Loock did his doctorate on the interaction of business and culture as a Dr. rer. pole. in Berlin. As part of his doctorate , he did research in the USA and France for a long time.

Friedrich Loock's professional positions outside of academic institutions were the Berlin Senate Department for Economics and Labor (policy officer), Deutsche Lufthansa AG in Frankfurt / Main as " Public Affairs Officer ", the management of Loock & Partner consulting company for marketing and operations management, and the management of Carl Herding GmbH.

In 1994 Friedrich Loock took over a professorship for “ Public Management - Public Service Management ” and headed the joint commission of the Berlin Universities of Applied Sciences for Technology and Economics (FHTW) and Administration and Justice (FHVR) until 1998, their joint course.

In the winter semester of 1998/99, Friedrich Loock moved to the Hamburg University of Music and Theater (HfMT) as C4 professor for culture and media management , initially as part of an endowed professorship at the ZEIT Foundation Ebelin and Gerd Bucerius (until 2002) . In 2000 he founded the Institute for Culture and Media Management Hamburg (KMM Hamburg).

Volunteering and memberships

Together with his wife, Susanne Litzel, he founded the non-profit organization "Stiftung EmMi Luebeskind", which is particularly dedicated to promoting foster and adoptive relationships.
