Friedrich Meier (politician)
Friedrich Meier (born October 4, 1924 in Lauenhagen , † November 7, 1975 in Bremen ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ) from Bremen. He was a member of the Bremen citizenship .
biography
education and profession
Meier joined the postal service in 1939. From 1942 to 1945 he served as a soldier in World War II , most recently as a lieutenant from 1944 . After the war he worked again in the postal service, since 1955 as postal inspector and most recently as senior post office councilor . From 1953 to 1971 he was district chairman and member of the main board of the German Postal Union . He also worked as a trade union secretary in Bremen.
politics
Meier had been a member of the NSDAP since 1942 and a member of the SPD in Bremen after the war.
From 1963 until his death, he worked for the SPD for 12 years as a member of the Bremen citizenship and in various deputations and committees of the citizenship.
