Friedrich Mevius
Friedrich Mevius (born May 9, 1576 in Greifswald ; † July 7, 1636 there ) was a German lawyer and university professor.
Friedrich Mevius was a son of the Pomeranian professor of law Thomas Mevius (1524-1580) and his wife Anna Falck (1543-1614). In 1605 he was appointed Associate Professor of Law at the University of Greifswald . On June 16, 1607 he received his doctorate . In 1619 he was appointed full professor and held the chair until his death.
In 1607 he married Elisabeth Rhaw (1579-1640), a daughter of Professor Balthasar Rhaw (1527-1601). David , the couple's second son, also became a lawyer. David's son Friedrich became major general in Sweden.
