Laçin is a city and a district in the Turkish province of Çorum . The city is located about 25 kilometers north of the provincial capital Çorum . The city of Laçin is located on the southern slope of İnegöl Dağı Mountain , about four kilometers east of the Kızılırmak River . It houses more than a quarter (2018: 28.5%) of the district's population.

district

The district is located in the northeast of the province. Internally, it borders on the districts of Osmancık in the north, Dodurga in the northwest, Oğuzlar in the west and the central district ( Merkez ) Çorum in the south. In the east, the district ( Amasya province ) forms the border.

The district was formed in 1990 from parts of the central district ( Merkez ) from the 16 villages and the main town ( Bucak Merkezi ) of the Bucak Büyüklaçin , the Belediye (municipality) Büyüklaçin. The Bucak had a population of 11,458 in the last census before the change of area (1985), of which 1,009 were in the municipality of Büyüklaçin.

At the end of 2018, the district included the district town and 14 villages ( Köy ) with an average of 244 inhabitants. Narlı is the largest village with 795 inhabitants; as Belediye in 1985 it had 2,365 inhabitants. At 24, the district's population density was slightly above half the provincial average (43 inhabitants per km²).

Attractions

About four kilometers southwest of the city is a Hellenistic rock grave called Kapılıkaya.
