İskilip is a district town and a district of the same name in the Turkish province of Çorum . İskilip was called Asklepios in ancient times and was part of Paphlagonia and later Bithynia . The city is home to over half of the district's population (2018: 55.34%)
The district İskilip located in the northwest of the province. In the north-west it borders on Tosya County in the Kastamonu Province . Starting in the north and working clockwise, the district has the following neighboring districts: Kargı , Osmancık , Oğuzlar , the central district , Uğurludağ and Bayat in the west. In addition to the district town, the district also consists of 64 villages ( Köy ) with an average of 227 inhabitants. Çukurköy is the largest village with 698 residents.
