Oğuzlar ( The Oghusen ) is a city and a district in the Turkish province of Çorum . It is located about 30 kilometers northwest of the provincial capital Çorum . The city of Oğuzlar is located on the eastern slope of the 1350 meter high Kay Beli , in the northwest is the Kavakdağ mountain range . It was called Karaören until 1990. district

The district is located in the center of the province. It borders on the central district in the south, İskilip district in the west , Osmancık district in the north and Dodurga and Laçin districts in the east . As one of the three inner districts, it has no common borders with other provinces.

The district was split off from the eastern part of İskilip district on May 20, 1990. Until then, some of the villages belonged to the central (Merkez) Bucak İskilip of the said district. Karaören at that time brought 4,907 inhabitants into the statistics for the last census before the change of area (1985).

The smallest district in terms of area has the second lowest population, but has a higher population density than the provincial average (43 inhabitants per km²). Currently (2018) the district consists of the district town and six villages ( Köy ) with an average of 421 residents. This is the highest number per village in the province, the average here is 185 residents per village. The largest village is Ağaççamı with 552 inhabitants.
