Friedrich Rothe

Friedrich Rothe (* 1939 in Duisburg ) is a German author and former gallery owner and university professor .

Life

Rothe studied literature and philosophy . His dissertation on Frank Wedekind's dramas was published in 1968. He taught at the Free University of Berlin for thirty years . As an author, he writes books about personalities such as Arthur Schnitzler and Adele Sandrock , Karl Kraus and Harry Graf Kessler . Rothe ran the gallery on Savignyplatz , which exhibited representational contemporary art and in 1974 was the first gallery in Berlin to show an exhibition by Jörg Immendorff . After moving from Carmerstraße , the gallery was located under its old name from 2009 to 2014 in Charlottenburger Nehringstraße on Klausenerplatz .
