Friedrich Wilhelm Leopold Stockinger (born November 26, 1878 in Karlsruhe , † January 4, 1937 in St. Georgen in the Black Forest ) was 1918/191918/19 1918/19 1918/19 1918/19 1918/19 the Minister of Education and Teaching in the Baden provisional people's government of the Republic of Baden .

Life

Stockinger completed his school education in his native Karlsruhe and joined the financial administration of the Grand Duchy of Baden as a financial assistant in 1895 . From 1901 he worked as a treasurer at the AOK Pforzheim.

In 1905 he was elected to the citizens' committee of the city of Pforzheim , in 1911 he became a city councilor and from 1919 to 1921 finally mayor of Pforzheim.

On 21 October 1909 he was for the SPD in the 49th constituency (municipalities of the Office Pforzheim) into the second chamber of Baden stands Assembly elected and on 21 October 1913, the voters extended its mandate to 27 June 1917. The law was the legislature extended until October 21, 1919 in order to avoid a new election during the ongoing World War. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the constitution, in 1918 he was awarded the Knight's Cross, 2nd class, of the Order of the Zähringer Löwen .

On November 10, 1918, Stockinger took over the post of education minister in the Baden provisional government for a few months (until April 2, 1919). On January 5, 1919, he was elected to the constituent national assembly of the Republic of Baden, which continued to work as a state parliament until October 7, 1921 after the referendum of April 13, 1919 on the new constitution.

From November 1921 to March 20, 1933 he was mayor of St. Georgen in the Black Forest.
