Friedrich Veit (pastor)

Friedrich Veit (born September 29, 1888 in Schwarzenbach an der Saale , † January 20, 1961 in Munich ) was a German Protestant pastor .

Veit was born in Schwarzenbach an der Saale in 1888 . He was the eldest son of the church president Friedrich Veit and had three children. From 1918 to 1925 he was pastor in Weißenburg . He was second pastor from 1925 and first pastor from 1932 at the Sebalduskirche in Nuremberg and for many years chairman of the regional association of Protestant workers' associations in Bavaria and the regional association of Protestant church choirs in Bavaria. From December 1947 until his death he was a member of the Bavarian Senate . From 1948 he was a member of the Committee for Cultural Policy, of which he was chairman in 1958/1961. On January 16, 1961, four days before his death, he was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit.
