His merits include the development and dissemination of television technology and the start of the first television broadcasting operations.

Career

Friedrich Wilhelm Banneitz initially studied electrical engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt . After successfully completing his degree in 1908, he deepened his theoretical knowledge by studying physics at the Universities of Heidelberg and Leipzig , where in 1919, after a long break due to his deployment in the First World War , he did a thesis on the measurement of the dielectric constants of mixed bodies with the help of PhD on a resonance method for capacity measurements .

Banneitz then entered the service of the Deutsche Reichspost . After having dealt with radio high-speed telegraphy for a few years , he became interested in the then hardly researched field of television technology. Under his leadership of the department for wireless telegraphy and special tasks (department IV G), from 1928 the further development of television technology and the introduction of a television company were carried out at the Deutsche Reichspost as planned. From 1930 he published the magazine for technology and culture of the entire electrical television industry under the title television . From the XI. At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, the first television images could already be transmitted using electronic cameras and broadcast vehicles.
