"Roetig clock"

A special feature of his craftsmanship is the double-sided window clock, which he made in Hachenburg in 1805 for his house on the market, which also housed his workshop . The clock is a 133 cm long precision pendulum clock , sogn. Cantilever with spring-driven eight-day movement , brass plates and scissors inhibition . It has a dial on both sides . On one side there are the hands for the hour, minute and central hands for the second, on the other hand there are only the hands for the hour and minute. The pendulum is mounted in cutting edges with the pendulum compensation according to John Ellicott . The round movement case with the dials forms the lens of the pendulum. The precious carving with a three-tier fan ornament that surrounds the window niche in which this clock is located was made around 1900.

In 1992 the watch was loaned to the craftsmen exhibition in Koblenz .

The RÖTIG clock applies by virtue of their design and creation time as unique in the world and stands as a technical monument under monument protection . Today it is a landmark of the city of Hachenburg and a monument to the traditional watchmaking and craftsmanship .
