Friedrich von Deym

Friedrich Joseph Franz Wenzel Deym, Count von Stritez (born May 3, 1801 in Vienna , † January 23, 1853 in Vienna) was a large Bohemian landowner and member of the Frankfurt National Assembly .

Life

He came from the Nemysl line of the old Bohemian dynasty Deym , was a large landowner with numerous estates in Bohemia , a. a. Mr on Nemysl with Mitrovice in the Tabor district, on Liblice with Bosin and Semanovice in the Melnik district and on Lojovice in the Karolinenthal district.

He was married twice. His first wife was Pauline Seignan de Casteras (born October 30, 1804, † July 13, 1825). The marriage remained childless. After her death he married Caroline de Lonueval, Countess von Buquoy (1811–1898), a daughter of Georg Franz August von Buquoy . The couple had the following children:

  • Felix Georg Gabriel Pancraz (* May 12, 1832; † February 28, 1892) ∞ Sophia Cassandra Maria Luise Praxedis, Countess of Bulgarini Contessa d 'Elci (* July 21, 1836; † April 27, 1894)
  • Anna Agnes Gabrielle Caroline (January 20, 1835; † Vászka August 19, 1870) ∞ Emil Johann Friedrich Baron v. Hoenning O'Carroll (born November 12, 1833; ∞ † Puchó September 15, 1894)
  • Maria Franz-Xaver Friedrich Carl Markus (* April 25, 1849; † May 14, 1920) ∞ Julia Bertha Grueber (* September 15, 1844; † July 31, 1930)

career

Friedrich von Deym initially followed the usual career path for members of the old nobility of the Habsburg monarchy. In addition to managing his property, he became an officer and courtier at the Viennese court. He made it up to the Rittmeister and the Imperial and Royal Chamberlain.

Only with the revolution of 1848 did he turn to political tasks. He was elected to the Frankfurt National Assembly for the constituency of Böhmen-Hohenelbe and was a member of the Paulskirchen Parliament from September 16, 1848 to April 13, 1849. He joined the national liberal casino faction, the strongest faction in the National Assembly, which advocated the hereditary monarchy, (while safeguarding civil rights) and for extensive autonomy for the individual German states.
