Friedrich von Dorbenck († before June 4, 1493 ) was bailiff von Thierstein (approx. 1460–1473) in Brandenburg-Kulmbach .

Friedrich came from the Franconian noble family von Dobenck . Through acquisitions in Jößnitz , Röttis and Zwoschwitz , he is considered in the family chronicle of Alban von Dobenck as the founder of the Saxon line. The territory of the bailiffs of Plauen passed to the Wettins in 1466 , who confirmed Friedrich's possession. His possessions also included u. a. Cossengrün and Rudolphstein . His wife Elisabeth, with whom he had several children, probably came from the Tosse family .

Like many other family members, he was involved in the South German City War and the First Margrave War in 1449 . The tribe related Dobenck, Vasmann and Falkenstein fought the imperial city of Nuremberg . Together with other family members, he fought against the Teutonic Order in the Thirteen Years' War .

In the feud of the Meissen burgrave Heinrich II von Plauen against Eger in 1452 , he stood on the side of the city. During the Bavarian War, as a bailiff, he was forced to set fire to the village of Thierstein at the foot of Thierstein Castle in order to deprive the attackers of the corresponding advantages. He was only able to withstand the siege of the castle for a short time.

His immediate successor as bailiff was Wilhelm von Schirnding . Predecessors are only known occasionally, including Hans von Wolframsdorf (approx. 1430) and Nickel and Erhart von Raitenbach (1459).
