Friedrich von Wolff called Metternich (baptized name Friedrich Sigurt Gabriel Otto Johannes Traugott Hubert Hermann ) (born March 17, 1816 in Schloss Wehrden ; † December 30, 1898 in Höxter ) was a German administrative lawyer and district administrator .
Life
Origin and family
Friedrich von Wolff called Metternich was born as the second son of the married couple Philipp von Wolff called Metternich and Dorothea Wilhelmine von Haxthausen and belonged to the Westphalian noble family von Wolff-Metternich . His older brother Klemens was senior president in Brandenburg and district administrator of the Paderborn district.
Professional background
In August 1835 he obtained his secondary school leaving certificate at the Paderborn grammar school and then studied law and camera science at the universities of Bonn and Berlin . In March 1839 he passed the auscultator test at the Berlin Superior Court with "good". With the result “very well qualified”, he passed the examination to become a trainee lawyer at the Arnsberg Higher Regional Court in August 1841. On July 1, 1845, the examination for government assessor followed with the result “faultlessly passed”. He did his military service as a one-year volunteer in the Guard Rifle Battalion and was a lieutenant and adjutant of the 2nd Landwehr contingent. On December 15, 1841, he was introduced as a government trainee lawyer at the Minden district government and on November 4, 1845, he was appointed government assessor. The district council of the Höxter district unanimously elected him as the first candidate for the office of district administrator on May 13, 1845, and on July 30, 1845 he was definitively appointed district administrator of the Höxter district and stayed here until he was released from civil service on February 29 In office in 1892.
On August 27, 1859, in Höxter, he married Maximiliane von der Betten, daughter of Max Kaspar von der Betten and Karoline Dunker.
