Friedrich von Zeppelin
Friedrich Jerôme Wilhelm Karl Graf von Zeppelin (born November 29, 1807 in Ulm , † March 25, 1886 in Emmishofen ) was a German court official and entrepreneur.
Life
Count Friedrich von Zeppelin was the son of the Württemberg State Minister Ferdinand Ludwig von Zeppelin . He was princely court and government councilor in Hohenzollern-Hechingen and Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen . During his studies in 1825 he became a member of the fraternity / comment connection in Tübingen . In 1834 he held the position of upper court marshal in Sigmaringen .
Zeppelin who married Constance manufacturer's daughter Amélie Françoise Pauline Macaire d'Hogguèr (1816-1852). The couple initially lived in Sigmaringen, but moved to Constance around 1837. There, Friedrich von Zeppelin was involved in the cotton factory and the banking house of his father-in-law David Macaire d'Hogguèr (1775–1845) from Geneva since 1836 . At Christmas 1840 he gave the couple the Girsberg Castle in Emmishofen on the shores of Lake Constance, where the family lived from then on.
The couple's three children were:
- Eugenie (born January 11, 1836; † June 8, 1911) ∞ Wilhelm Friedrich Karl von Gemmingen (born October 12, 1827; † January 6, 1920)
- Ferdinand (July 8, 1838 - March 8, 1917), pioneer of airship travel ( Zeppelins ) ∞ Isabella von Wolff (* May 4, 1846 - February 2, 1922)
- Eberhard (* May 22, 1842; † October 30, 1906) ∞ Sophie von Wolff (* September 20, 1840; † October 28, 1919)
