Fritillaria mughlae is a species of plant in the genus Fritillaria in the lily family (Liliaceae).

description

The bulbs are spherical and measure 0.8 to 1.2 × 0.8 to 1.7 centimeters. The onion skin is thin and paper-like. The stem is erect, smooth, and 7 to 25 inches high. The five to twelve leaves are sessile, alternate and frosted green. The lowest leaves measure 4.5 to 12.3 × 0.5 to 0.8 centimeters and are linear-lanceolate to pointed. The middle leaves measure 3.2 to 12.5 × 0.2 to 0.7 centimeters and, like the only bract, which has a size of 2.8 to 9.2 × 0.1 to 0.4 centimeters, are linear and pointed.

There are one or two flowers . The inflorescence is narrow, bell-shaped. The tepals are greenish-yellow in color, when they fade they become brown with veins. The outer tepals measure 14 to 20 × 5 to 6 millimeters and are blunt with a tuft of eyelashes on the tip, the inner ones are similar, but only 4 to 5 millimeters wide. The nectaries are located at the base of the flower cover, measure 3 to 4 × 1 millimeters and are lanceolate and greenish-yellow. The stamens are 6.5 to 8 millimeters long, yellow, papilose and widen towards the base. The anthers are 3.5 to 5 millimeters long, oblong-elliptical, yellow and attached to the base. The stylus are 6 to 8 millimeters long and three columns, the branches are 1 to 3 millimeters long and papilous. The scar is whole. The capsule fruits measure 18 to 21 × 10 to 13 millimeters and are obverse-lanceolate and wingless. The seeds measure 3.5 to 6 × 3.5 to 5 millimeters and are flat and egg-shaped. The seed coat is light brown and has a honeycomb-like net pattern.

The flowering time is in February and March.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 24. Two pairs of chromosomes are more or less symmetrical, ten are asymmetrical. Of the former, one pair is metacentric and one submetacentric, of the latter six subtelocentric and four telocentric.
