Fritz Deubel

Fritz Deubel (born September 9, 1898 in Weilar , † December 16, 1966 in Ilmenau ) was a German geologist and university professor in East Berlin .

During the National Socialist era , Deubel was head of the Reich Institute for Soil Research . In 1938 he became a member of the NSDAP .

Deubel received the chair for geology at Jena University in 1949 , later at the Humboldt University in East Berlin and again in Jena in 1954. He was a member of the Saxon Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences of the GDR . In 1952 he was awarded the National Prize of the GDR III for his services to the development of ore deposits and for researching the geology of Thuringia . Class awarded.

His research interests included tectonics and regional geology (v. A. Of Thuringia ), the hydrogeology and economic geology . He was also an academician and as such headed the Geotectonic Institute for several years in the 1960s .
