Fritz Füllenbach

Fritz Füllenbach (born September 21, 1902 in Ladenburg ; † November 6, 1976 in Idar-Oberstein ) was a German employment office director and politician of the SPD . From 1963 to 1971 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament .

Life and work

Füllenbach attended elementary school in Neuwied from 1908 to 1916 . He then began his apprenticeship as a typesetter , which he completed with a journeyman's and master's examination. In this profession he was active until the beginning of the Second World War , in which he was used in military service, most recently as a non-commissioned officer. After the war in 1945 he was employed as an assistant at the employment offices in Neuwied and Koblenz . In 1947 he was appointed director of the employment office in Idar-Oberstein, a position he held until his retirement in 1967.

From 1920 to 1933 Füllenbach belonged to the free trade union and the workers' sports and cultural movement in various functions. From 1948 to 1952 he sat on the press committee of the newspaper Freiheit . In addition, he performed other functions, for example as a judge at the regional social court , as a member of the supervisory board of the Oberstein construction cooperative and as a co-founder of the Oberstein consumer cooperative and the Idar-Oberstein people's sports club, of which he was also chairman.

In 1919 Füllenbach joined the Socialist Workers' Youth and a year later the SPD. From 1933 to 1940 he was a member of the German Labor Front . After the war he participated in the reconstruction of the SPD. For this he was a member of the Neuwied City Council until 1947, and after his move to Idar-Oberstein, the local city council. Within the SPD, Füllenbach was chairman in Idar-Oberstein, district chairman in Birkenfeld and deputy chairman of the Nahe-Hunsrück sub-district, he was also a member of the Rhineland / Hesse-Nassau district committee.

In 1963 Füllenbach was elected to the Mainz state parliament for the first time. During this term he was a member of the Petitions and Borderlands Committee. In 1967 he was re-elected and was now a member of the Legal Affairs Committee in Parliament. After the 1971 election, he left the state parliament.

In 1964 Füllenbach was a member of the 4th Federal Assembly , which Heinrich Lübke confirmed in the office of Federal President .
