Fritz Kaltenegger (born August 1, 1971 in Wolfsberg ) is an Austrian politician and manager . From 2008 to 2011 he was General Secretary of the Austrian People's Party .

Career

After completing his studies at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in the field of landscape planning , he worked for the Austrian Biomass Association and the Austrian Hagelversicherung . From October 2001 he was an employee of the ÖVP parliamentary club, responsible for agriculture, the environment and the Temelin special committee . In March 2003, he moved to the office of then Minister of Agriculture Josef Pröll as head of cabinet . In September 2005 he was appointed director of the ÖVP farmers' union. After the ÖVP congress in November 2008, he was appointed General Secretary of the People's Party by the newly elected party chairman Josef Pröll as the successor to Hannes Missethon .

On April 18, 2011, Kaltenegger announced as part of the changes planned by the designated ÖVP chairman Michael Spindelegger in appointments to the federal government and party positions that he would withdraw completely from politics. On April 19, 2011, Spindelegger introduced Johannes Rauch , the previous managing director of the Tyrolean People's Party , as Kaltenegger's successor.

On December 1, 2011, he moved to the Agrana Group, where he was responsible for the wheat starch and E10 ethanol divisions . Today he is the managing director of Café + Co International Holding GmbH

Private

He is married and has two children.
