Fritz Klauser (business educator)

Fritz Klauser (born September 18, 1957 in Bottendorf ; † January 12, 2018 in Göttingen ) was a German business educator and university professor.

life and work

After graduating from school in Schulpforta in 1976, Klauser began studying business education at the Humboldt University in Berlin that same year . He completed this in 1980 and was initially a vocational school teacher for economics in Gotha . In 1984 he returned to the Humboldt University as an aspirant and completed his doctorate there in 1987 on the methodology of legal knowledge in the field of teaching methodology for economic subjects. Then Klauser worked as a senior assistant at the Berlin School of Economics until 1989 . After a brief activity as a research assistant at the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the GDR from 1989 to 1990, Klauser joined the Department of Business Education at the University of Göttingen as a research assistant . There he completed his habilitation in January 1997 and received the Venia legendi for business education .

This was followed by substitute professorships at the TU Chemnitz and the University of Leipzig as well as teaching positions at the University of Frankfurt am Main and the Kassel University of Applied Sciences . In 2000 Klauser became a full professor at the University of Leipzig, where he held the chair for vocational and business education until his death in 2018.

His main research interests lay particularly in learning and teaching with digital media, in the training and further education of specialists in energy and water management, as well as the historical genesis of commercial education, with special attention to the Leipzig line of development.
