Fritz Morstein Marx

Fritz Morstein Marx (born February 23, 1900 in Hamburg , † October 9, 1969 in Baden-Baden ) was a German-American political and administrative scientist.

Morstein Marx studied law after a short military service in the First World War . In 1922 he received his doctorate at the University of Hamburg and then entered the administrative service of the Free and Hanseatic City. In 1930/31 he was on a research grant from the Rockefeller Foundation in the USA and emigrated there in 1933 after the transfer of power to the National Socialists . He worked in academic teaching and also in administration. From 1942 to 1960 he was a member of the US President's Bureau of the Budget . He was also a research professor at Princeton University . From 1960 to 1962 he was Dean of Hunter College in New York City .

In 1962 Morstein Marx returned to Germany and became professor of comparative administrative science and public law at the University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer . During this time he pursued, among other things, the foundation of administrative ethics for the German-speaking area.

Morstein Marx retired in 1968 , but continued teaching until his death.
