Fritz Muggler

Fritz Muggler (* 1930 in Zurich ) is a Swiss musician and music critic .

After graduating from high school, Muggler studied piano, organ and musicology (with Paul Hindemith and Kurt von Fischer ) at the Conservatory and the University of Zurich . He then worked as a music critic for the newspapers Volksrecht and Die Tat, and for many years for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung . He later studied recorder with Hans-Martin Linde at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel. He founded the New Consort Zurich and worked as an organist in Schlieren . He repeatedly attended the Darmstadt summer courses . 1978–95 he was President of the Swiss Section of the International Society for New Music . In 1991 he organized the ISCM World Music Days in Zurich.
