The European Darts Open is a ranking tournament in darts and was organized by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) from March 23rd to 25th, 2018 . It was the first event of the European Darts Tour 2018 , which will be carried out as part of the Pro Tour 2018 . The venue for the second time was the Ostermann Arena in Leverkusen .

The title was won by Michael van Gerwen from the Netherlands , who beat last year's winner Peter Wright in the final with 8: 7 legs .

format

The tournament was played in a knockout system . Game mode in all rounds was best of 11 legs , in the semifinals best of 13 legs and in the final best of 15 legs . Each leg was played in double-out mode.

Prize money

The tournament totaled £ 135,000 in prize money. The prize money was distributed among the participants as follows:
