The European Darts Grand Prix 2018 is a ranking tournament in darts and was organized for the fifth time by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) from May 4th to 6th, 2018 . It was the fifth event of the European Darts Tour 2018 , which will be carried out as part of the Pro Tour 2018 . The venue was the Glass Palace in Sindelfingen .
The tournament victory was secured by the Dutchman Michael van Gerwen , who prevailed in the final with 8: 3 legs against the Englishman James Wade .
format
The tournament was played in a knockout system . Game mode was best of 11 legs in the first rounds , best of 13 legs in the semi-finals and best of 15 legs in the final . Each leg was played in double-out mode.
Prize money
The tournament totaled £ 135,000 in prize money. The prize money was distributed among the participants as follows:
