The European Darts Open is a ranking tournament in darts and was organized by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) from March 22nd to 24th, 2019 . It was the first event of the European Darts Tour 2019, which will be carried out as part of the Pro Tour 2019 . The venue for the third time was the Ostermann Arena in Leverkusen .

In his game against the Austrian Mensur Suljović , the Dutchman Michael van Gerwen managed a nine dart finish , making him the only player who managed the perfect leg twice on the Pro Tour. Michael van Gerwen also secured the title after beating England's Rob Cross with 8: 6- legs in the final .

format

The tournament was played in a knockout system . Game mode in all rounds was best of 11 legs , in the semifinals best of 13 legs and in the final best of 15 legs . Each leg was played in double-out mode.

Prize money

The tournament totaled £ 135,000 in prize money. The prize money was distributed among the participants as follows:
