The German Darts Championship 2019 was a ranking tournament in darts and was organized for the eighth time by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) from March 29th to 31st, 2019 . It was the second event of the European Darts Tour 2019 , which will be carried out as part of the Pro Tour 2019 . The venue was again Hall 39 in Hildesheim .
The Englishman James Wade managed a nine dart finish against Darren Webster in the round of 16 , who nevertheless won the game. The tournament was won by Northern Irishman Daryl Gurney , who prevailed in the final with 8: 6- legs against the Englishman Ricky Evans .
format
The tournament was played in a knockout system . Game mode was best of 11 legs in the first rounds , best of 13 legs in the semi-finals and best of 15 legs in the final . Each leg was played in double-out mode.
Prize money
The tournament totaled £ 135,000 in prize money. The prize money was distributed among the participants as follows:
