Fritz Ritter (born February 15, 1920 ) was a German soccer goalkeeper who was active in Dresden from the 1930s to the 1950s .

Athletic career

Ritter began his career in 1931 at VfL Reichsbahn Dresden . From 1941 to 1944 he played there in the first men's team, most recently in the Gauliga Sachsen . After the end of the Second World War , Ritter joined the SG Dresden-Mickten . In 1949 he won the Saxon football cup with Mickten, and in 1950 the Saxon championship. As a master, the SG Mickten took part in the promotion games to the GDR Oberliga . In the middle of the promotion games, the SG Mickten was affiliated with the company sports community (BSG) Sachsenverlag Dresden . The football team won the promotion round with Fritz Ritter and played in 1950/51 in the Oberliga, the top division in GDR football . There she started under the new name BSG Rotation.

Up until the 1953/54 season, Ritter was the goalkeeper of the BSG rotation. Of the 130 point games in the four seasons, he played 123 games. He was then replaced first by Günter Schiemack , and later by Wolfgang Großstück . At the successor club SC Einheit Dresden Knight was used in 24 league championship games until 1957, so that he finally came to 147 league games. His last league game played on December 1, 1957, the last game day of the season (calendar year season) in the encounter between SC Turbine Erfurt - SC Einheit Dresden (3: 3). At the age of almost 38, Ritter then moved to the Dresden district class at BSG Turbine Dresden. In his first season in 1958, he helped the BSG Turbine move up to the fourth-class Dresden district class. Turbine Dresden was the last station in Ritter’s football career.
