Wolfgang Großstück
Wolfgang Großstück (born October 3, 1932 ; † May 31, 2011 in Dresden ) was the soccer goalkeeper of SC Einheit Dresden . He was once on the GDR national soccer team.

Großstück must have cut a good figure in this game, because the unit functionaries caused the move to Dresden at the beginning of the upper league intermediate round in 1955, which was carried out according to the Soviet model to bridge the season rhythm from autumn / spring to the calendar year. Großstück played his first league game on December 11, 1955 in the home game against SC Wismut Karl-Marx-Stadt (0-2).
Großstück, known as the "Tall One", played with Einheit Dresden for eight years in the top GDR soccer class . 1958 was a particularly successful year for him. First, he was appointed to the international GDR - Bulgaria match, which took place in Berlin on October 5th. National coach Fritz Gödicke was looking for a second goalkeeper behind Karl-Heinz Spickenagel and wanted to try out the Dresden goalkeeper after Günter Busch , Rolf Jahn and Klaus Thiele . Whether it was due to the fact that further appointments to the senior national team were not made because Großstück could not prevent the equalizer to make the final score 1: 1 is not known. December 14, 1958 was another high point in Großstück's football career. In the final of the GDR Cup , Einheit Dresden defeated SC Lokomotive Leipzig with a large piece in goal after extra time with 2: 1.
His last league game he completed on June 3, 1962 at SC Empor Rostock . Großstück suffered a high 0: 6 defeat with his team. The relegation of SC Einheit Dresden was sealed four days earlier, although on the penultimate matchday they defeated ASK Vorwärts Berlin, who had just been crowned GDR champions, 1-0. Großstück then played in the GDR league until he retired.
In 1964, at the age of 32, Großstück said goodbye to competitive football. For Einheit Dresden he had played 273 competitive games, 128 of which were point games in the league. For many years he worked as a goalkeeping coach for his club. Among other things, he helped his successor Werner Friese to a brilliant career at Einheit Dresden.
Wolfgang Großstück died on May 31, 2011 at the age of 78 in Dresden.
