Fritz Scharenberg

Friedrich Wilhelm Scharenberg (born October 31, 1846 in Neustrelitz ; † February 7, 1916 in Neubrandenburg ) was a German lawyer and judge who worked in Stargard and Neubrandenburg.

Life

Fritz Scharenberg was the son of the court counselor, law office and consistory secretary Theodor Scharenberg (1820–1899) and Clara Beselin (1822–1893), daughter of Friederike Wilhelmine von Flotow (1798–1831). After graduating from high school Michaelis in 1866 at the Carolinum grammar school in Neustrelitz, Scharenberg went to Heidelberg (1866), Berlin and Rostock (1869) to study law. He was mayor of the city of Stargard (1877), magistrate in Stargard (1879), magistrate in Neubrandenburg (1883) and state police district commissarius (1896) in the Neubrandenburg district. On January 1, 1899, Scharenberg was appointed judicial councilor in Neubrandenburg. Shortly before his death, Scharenberg was awarded the Knight's Cross of the House Order of the Wendish Crown on January 1, 1914 .

His son was the future governor of Hagenow, Wolfgang Scharenberg (1883-1969).
