Fritz Wider

Friedrich (Fritz) Wilhelm Wider (born October 10, 1877 in Meimsheim , † February 11, 1965 in Stuttgart ) was a German politician (DNVP).

Life

Wider was the son of the pharmacist and manufacturer Ferdinand August Wider (1830–1918). After attending primary school in Meimsheim, the Latin school in Brackenheim and the Realanstalt in Stuttgart, Wider worked for two years in his parents' companies - a chemical factory and a drugstore. From 1896 to 1897, Wider was a member of the Württemberg Army . In 1899 he became a member of the Germania Stuttgart Landsmannschaft . In 1903 he became a lieutenant in the reserve in the infantry regiment "Kaiser Friedrich, King of Prussia" (7th Württembergisches) No. 125 . He then studied chemistry at the Technical University in Stuttgart. In 1905, Wider and his brother Ferdinand took over the company FA Wider, chemical factory and drug store Wider. As early as 1902, Wider was politically active as a young liberal. He later became a member of the national liberal German party . In 1910 he married Marga Daser. The marriage remained childless and was divorced in 1923.

On August 4, 1914, Wider went to the First World War as a company leader , where he was promoted to battalion leader. In addition, Wider, who was wounded six times in the war, received both classes of the Iron Cross , the Frederick Order , the Knight's Cross of the Order of Military Merit , the Hamburg Hanseatic Cross and the Wound Badge in gold.

After returning home from the war, Wider founded the Württemberg Officers' Association in November 1918. He also took part in the development of the Württemberg Citizens' Party , whose district chairmanship in Stuttgart he also took over, which eventually became part of the German National People's Party (DNVP). From 1918 to 1920, Wider belonged to the constituent state assembly of Württemberg. He was then a member of the Württemberg state parliament from 1919 to 1933 .

In the Reichstag election of September 1930 , Wider was elected to the Reichstag for the DNVP , in which he henceforth represented constituency 31 (Württemberg). After his mandate was confirmed in the following three Reichstag elections, Wider sat in the Reichstag for almost three years - from September 1930 to November 1933. One of the important parliamentary events in which Wider was involved during his time as a member of parliament was the vote on the Enabling Act in March 1933, which was finally passed with an opponent .

From 1933 to 1962, Wider was a member or honorary member, at times also chairman, of the supervisory board of Leonberger Bausparkasse AG. Dr.-Ing. e. H. of the Technical University of Stuttgart.
