Fritz von der Schulenburg (student)
Fritz von der Schulenburg (* 3. November 1591 in Beetzendorf ; † the 30th January 1613 ) was a student in Tübingen , who became famous because his elaborately designed Alabaster - Epitaph by Georg Müller in Tuebingen Collegiate Church was preserved.
Live and act
In his funeral sermon it is said that from 1609 he studied in Jena for three years before he came to Tübingen, where he died of smallpox at the age of 21 .
family
He was one of the 13 children of Albrecht VI, Count von der Schulenburg (* 1557) and his wife Eulalia (also Oelehe or Oleke), Countess von Saldern .
Tomb and memorial
Both a traditional tomb and an elaborate memorial have been preserved in the Tübingen collegiate church. In the medallion of the memorial, the presumably deceased Christoph Assemburg, the student's preceptor, is depicted. The statue of the deceased was originally framed by 17 colored coats of arms, of which 11 still exist.
