Fromberghorn

The Fromberghorn ( Bernese Oberland : Fromberghore ) is 2394  m above sea level. M. high summit in the Bernese Oberland . It is the second mountain in the Niesen chain south of the Niesen . Towards the north, the mountain drops steeply 500 m into the Bettfluh.

No mountain trails lead to the Fromberghorn. In the course of crossing the entire Niesen chain, however, the summit is sometimes climbed from the Niesensattel via the northeast ridge. This route over the so-called Wysse Zend has been made much easier since 2007 by a fixed rope and some artificial steps. In this case, the route continues over the airy north-west ridge to the Drunengalm. Other routes that are open to experienced mountain hikers with a head for heights are the southwest ridge (starting point Wengi) or the northwest ridge (starting point Oey).
