Fu Quanyou

Fu Quanyou ( Chinese  傅全有 ; * November 1930 in Yuanping , Shanxi ) is a Chinese general of the People's Liberation Army and a politician of the Communist Party of China (CCP), who was chief of the general staff and thus military commander of the armed forces between 1995 and 2002.

Life

Fu Quanyou joined the People's Liberation Army in 1946 after attending school and became a member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in 1947 . Between 1948 and 1950 he took part in the Yanqing Battle as deputy company commander of the Northwest Field Army during the final stages of the Chinese Civil War. He was then from 1950 to 1952 company commander and chief of staff of a battalion in the Northwest Field Army. He then acted as commander of a battalion between 1953 and 1958 and took part in the Korean War with this in 1953 . In 1958 he began studying at the Military Academy of the People's Liberation Army, which he graduated in 1961. As the successor to General Zhang Wannian , he took over the post of Chief of the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army in 1995 and thus as military commander of the armed forces. He held this post until 2002, when he was replaced by General Liang Guanglie .
