The Fuchs in Tschams (also: Fuchs im Loch ) is a historically significant, agricultural homestead in the district of Sand of Gries-Quirein , a district of Bolzano in South Tyrol .

The farm, located in the northern part of the Gries valley below St. Jakob am Sand and Rafenstein Castle , is first documented in the register of the Bozen notary Jakob Haas from 1237 as "Leutoldus de Çoumes" (Leutold von Tschams). In 1387, “Hainrich Fuchs von Schämes” is the first evidence of the later court name Fuchs. In the 14th and 15th centuries, the construction site for “Schaums” and “Tschæms ” of the Upper Bavarian Premonstratensian Monastery of Schäftlarn was subject to a basic interest rate . 1420, the court is in Urbar of Bolzano Heiliggeistspital , to which he performed duties as "Wiser in Santt" cited. In 1422 "the Fuxchs von Schems" also pays interest on the St. Mary's Parish Church in Gries . In an ordinance of the Regional Court of Gries-Bozen from 1487, "Andre Fuchs zu Tscháms " is appointed as one of the representatives of the Gries village community to be the sovereign tax collector "in the sand" .

In the Theresian real estate tax cadastre from 1777 to 1780, the scope of the Fuchshof is estimated as 30 Graber Leiten, 4 Graber Öde formerly Leite and 3 Tagmahd Wiese.

Today is the fox in Tschams (Fuchs in the hole), consisting of feed - and fire house and further annexes, a Weinhof own winery.

Near the Fuchshof there has been a deep well in the Fuchswiese since the late 19th century , which is part of the municipal water supply network of Bolzano.
