Fujiwara no Kaneie

Fujiwara no Kaneie ( Japanese 藤原 兼 家 ; * 929 ; † July 31, 990 ) was a Kuge (court nobleman) of the Heian period . He was the third son of Fujiwara no Morosuke from the influential Fujiwara family .

From 986 to 990 he ruled as Sesshō and from May 5th to 8th (lunar calendar) 990 as Kampaku for Emperor Ichijō all of Japan.

His first wife Fujiwara no Tokihime gave birth to the sons Michitaka , Michikane , Michinaga and the daughters Chūshi and Senshi . The sons later also became regents (Kampaku and Sesshō), Chūshi wife of Emperor Reizei and mother of Emperor Sanjō , Senshi wife of Emperor En'yū and mother of Emperor Ichijō .

His second wife was Fujiwara no Michitsuna no Haha (mother of Fujiwara no Michitsuna ) who became an eminent author. He also had other women.
