Radio interference (band)
Radio interference is from Christian de Luca and Michael Fakesch existing duo of IDM - producers from Rosenheim .
Radio interference was best known for rhythmically complex but melodic music reminiscent of the work of Autechre from the late 1990s, although their latest releases included elements of both hip-hop and pop music . Radio Disturbance were considered very active remixers , with work for artists such as Jean Michel Jarre , Björk and the Wu-Tang Clan . Two of Funkstistern's five albums are compilations of remixes for other artists.
An important point with radio interference records has always been the design, often created by the English agency The Designers Republic . This penchant for graphic design came with the release of Isolated. Triple media. peaked in 2005. It is a 160-page book with graphics and a DVD with music videos for their album Disconnected . Both de Luca and Fakesch have released solo albums, most of them on their own label " Musik Aus Strom ".
history
The two musicians met in 1992 together as de Luca at a party hanging up , which was organized by Fakesch. Although their musical backgrounds ( hip-hop and heavy metal ) were different, they initially produced classic minimalist techno under the name Musik Aus Strom and signed a contract for six albums with the Dutch label Bunker Records / Acid Planet in 1994 . Acid Planet did not manage to release these productions until 1996, so de Luca and Fakesch renamed themselves Funkstistern and used the term Musik Aus Strom for their label, on which they recorded a few EPs in a new, more melodic and complex IDM Style. After further EPs on Compost Records and Chocolate Industries and a series of remixes for well-known artists such as Björk and the Wu-Tang Clan , they finally signed with K7 Records . There their style changed further, among other things with further collaborations with MCs , with which they tried to implement their version of a modern hip-hop production method. On their album Disconnected they also turned to the classic pop song , with guest singers like Louise Rhodes from Lamb , Sarah Jay (known for her work with Massive Attack ) and the Munich based Enik . Disconnected was also the springboard for the Isolate project . A series of photographs were posted on the band's website and visitors were invited to modify and return them. The results, both graphics and videos for songs by Disconnected , were Isolated in 2004 as the book / DVD combo. Triple media. released.
In the summer of 2006, the group announced their split. The members wanted to go their separate ways and start projects under their own name.
In early 2015, it was announced that the group had been reactivated by both members. In the summer of 2015, the album Radio Disturbance was released on Monkeytown Records.
