description

The rosettes of Furcraea acaulis are stemless or form a trunk up to 3 meters long. The spreading, lanceolate-sword-shaped, almost flat leaves are smooth. Their leaf blades are about 150 centimeters long and 12.5 to 15 centimeters wide. At the leaf margins there are double-row teeth, 3 to 5 millimeters long. They are usually in spreading pairs at the tips of green protrusions and are 25 to 62 millimeters apart. Imperforate shapes are also known.

The inflorescence reaches a height of 7.2 to 9 meters (rarely up to 12 meters) and has a long shaft. The pendulous flowers are about 50 to 60 millimeters long. Their elongated, light yellow, somewhat blunt tepals are about 50 to 62 millimeters long. The inner tepals are a little wider than the outer ones. The triangular ovary has a length of about 20 to 25 millimeters. The stylus is three-edged, the scar three-sided.

Nothing is known about the fruit .
