Fuzzy Duck was an English rock band from London whose sound was heavily influenced by the Hammond organ .
history
The album Fuzzy Duck, which was released in 1971, was initially limited to 500 tracks and is now one of the most influential albums in psychedelic rock , although it failed to achieve great commercial success. The band split in late 1971, but continued demand led to reissues on CD from Akarma Records, Repertoire Records, Aftermath Records, Air Mail Archive, Esoteric Recordings and other labels. The reason for the breakup was, among other things, line-up changes that had taken place before the album was released. Members of Andromeda and Tucky Buzzard were already active before it was founded.
Garth Watt Roy in 1972 for the song on the album Speech by Steamhammer committed; later he played and sang with East of Eden , Bonnie Tyler , and the Q-Tips, among others .
style
Martin Popoff wrote in his book The Collector's Guide of Heavy Metal Volume 1: The Seventies about the album that there was more serious music on it than the band name and album cover would suggest. He described the songs as demanding progressive rock that was "heavy" and guitar-driven. The use of fuzz and a Hammond organ are also characteristic. In addition, the group also process influences from psychedelic rock. The length of the songs would usually be between five and seven minutes and would sound like a mixture of old Black Sabbath , German progressive rock and rock in the style of Uriah Heep .
