Gärmersdorf has been a district of Kümmersbruck in the district of Amberg-Sulzbach in the Upper Palatinate in Bavaria since the municipal area reform that came into effect on January 1, 1972 .
history
Gärmersdorf was first mentioned in 1289. In 1289, a farm in "Gerberstorf" was assigned to the Ensdorf monastery as part of a measurement foundation, in which place the present Gärmersdorf is believed to be. The actual formation of the community followed in 1818. In today's municipal area, three municipalities were created: Gärmersdorf (with: Krumbach, Kümmersbruck, Moos and Penkhof), Köfering (Engelsdorf, with Haselmühl and Lengenfeld) and Theuern. The old coat of arms of the former municipality of Gärmersdorf can be seen on the right in the info box.
coat of arms
Over a golden corrugated shield base, inside a golden heraldic rose, in black a silver bar, topped with three blue stars. (IME of June 10, 1968 No. IB 3 - 3000/29 G 14). The Nortweiner (silver bar), the Hegner (rose) and the Löwenthal (star) were selected from the coats of arms of the owners of the former country estate in today's municipal area. The wave division speaks for the place names Kümmersbruck, Haidweiher, Krumbach and Moos. The field colors gold and black indicate the electoral Palatinate lion because of the former ownership of the Amberg court box office. Municipal flag: red, yellow, blue.
climate
The small town held the German heat record for a long time . On July 27, 1983, the Bundeswehr's geophysical measuring train measured 40.3 ° C, which the German Weather Service initially confirmed, but later corrected to 40.2 ° C. After the turn of the millennium, however, the value was exceeded several times.
