Köfering has been part of the municipality of Kümmersbruck in the district of Amberg-Sulzbach in the Upper Palatinate in Bavaria and is located about one and a half kilometers south of Amberg since the municipal area reform that came into effect on January 1, 1972 .

Attractions

One of the sights in town is the Catholic branch church of the Conception, a residential stable from the 17th and 18th centuries. Century with segmented arched door (Haager Straße 12), a residential stable from the 18th / 19th century. Century with plaster structure (Waldhausstraße 91) and a wrought iron cross on natural stone on the footpath to Haselmühl.

The Köfering district in the municipality of Kümmersbruck is in the immediate vicinity of the Hirschwald Nature Park with the forest tavern and show enclosure "Waldhaus", a recreational area for families, hikers and cyclists.

Culture

The most traditional and most cultural event in the village of Köfering is the Köferinger Kirwa. It has been around for as long as the Grasser tavern or the “Foußbauern” in Köfering. In the 19th century, a peasant restaurant was turned into an inn and after the war - next to the Raigeringer Kirwa - probably one of the largest kirwan in the district.
