Göritz is a locality and a cadastral municipality of the municipality of Kapfenberg in the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district in Styria .

The village also consists of the village of Pogier ( 670  m above sea level ), the Sonnleiten settlement ( 580  m above sea level ) and some individual layers.

history

The earliest written document is from 1302 and reads "Goeritz". The name goes back to the Slavic gorica (small mountain, hill).

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 152 building areas with 44,815 m² and 122 gardens on 118,077 m² in the cadastral community of Göritz , in 1989/1990 there were 194 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had increased to 548 and in 2009/2010 there were 268 buildings on 615 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture and forestry. 281 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 540 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 223 hectares and 582 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 186 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 563 hectares. The average soil climate of Göritz is 26.2 (as of 2010).
