Gülpe is a district of the municipality of Havelaue in the Havelland district in Brandenburg . It is located directly on Lake Gülper and borders a branch of the Havel . Around 160 people live there.

Buildings and history

In the Gülpe district there is a Slavic rampart , the Pilatsch , the stables of a former wooden low castle from the early Middle Ages . The Pilatsch is located in the west of the district directly on the Havel.

Gülpe was first mentioned in a document in 1441. Around 1725 it was owned by the von der Hagen family . The village burned down completely on August 27, 1767 as a result of carelessness. The brick church of the rebuilt fishing village dates back to 1885. In the church there is a completely preserved organ by the Wittstock organ builder Friedrich Hermann Lütkemüller , but it is no longer playable.

Until December 31, 2001, Gülpe was an independent municipality.
