history

Bronze Age, later Slavic ramparts Parey

Located directly on the Havel was a Bronze Age and later by Slavs unused Burgwall Parey , whose remains are still visible. In the Gülpe district there is a Slavic rampart , the Pilatsch , the stables of a former wooden low castle from the early Middle Ages . The Pilatsch is in the west of the district also directly on the Havel.

Wolsier was mentioned as belonging to the von Wuthenow family in 1437. A little later the village belonged to the Bishop of Havelberg. After the Reformation , Wolsier became the property of the Brandenburg Elector. In the Thirty Years War the village was devastated and completely depopulated. It was not until the end of the 17th century until 1722 that Wolsier was rebuilt a little north of the original village as an anger village . In 1874 almost the whole village burned down and in 1882 the estate burned down.

Spaatz was first mentioned in 1441 as a property of the von der Hagen family. It was hit by a flood in 1566, and in 1700 fires destroyed parts of the church and several buildings in the village.

Parey was first mentioned in 1450 and is of Slavic origin.

On May 1, 1974, Prietzen was incorporated into the community of Wolsier.

The current districts of the municipality belonged to the Westhavelland district in the Prussian province of Brandenburg since 1817 and to the Rathenow district in the GDR district of Potsdam from 1952 . They have been in the Havelland district in Brandenburg since 1993.

The municipality of Havelaue was created on December 31, 2001 from the voluntary amalgamation of the previously independent municipalities of Gülpe, Parey, Spaatz, Strodehne and Wolsier.
