geography

Wiesenaue is centrally located between the towns of Rathenow , Nauen , Kyritz and Neuruppin , near Friesack in the lowlands south of the Old Rhin . West of the village is located up to 77 meters NHN high ridge Ländchen Friesack and south of the Great Havelländische main channel . The municipality has a share of the Zootzen forest .

history

Brädikow, Vietznitz and Warsow belonged to the Westhavelland district in the Prussian province of Brandenburg since 1817 and to the Nauen district in the GDR district of Potsdam from 1952 . Since 1993, the places have been in the Havelland district in Brandenburg.

The municipality of Wiesenaue was formed on October 26, 2003 as part of the municipal reorganization of the state from the three previously independent municipalities Brädikow, Vietznitz and Warsow. Originally the name Jahnberge was given to the new community by the Brandenburg Ministry of the Interior. On June 7, 2004 the municipal council decided to rename it to Wiesenaue. The change came into effect on October 1, 2004.

The federal highway 5 leads west past the municipality. The state roads L 17 and L 174 connect the districts with each other. The federal motorway 24 runs northeast of the community and can be reached via the Fehrbellin junction (approx. 12 km).

Wiesenaue is close to the Berlin – Hamburg railway line . The next train station is Paulinenaue .
