history

Church Großderschau

From 1773 to 1775, after the Dosse was dyed , the Friedrichsdorf colony was founded with nine other villages and hamlets on existing settlement areas: Brenkenhof , Großderschau, Klein-Derschau, Friedrichsbruch, Jülitz, Klausiushof, Wilhelminenaue, Petershagen, Raminsgut. In 1785, a new church was built in Friedrichsdorf for the newly created villages in Sieversdorf , originally a simultaneous church for Lutherans and Reformed people, as there were also many Reformed denominations among the new settlers. For the Lutherans the preacher was appointed in Sieversdorf and for the Reformed the preacher from Spiegelberg near Neustadt, who until 1828 alternately had to hold divine services every 14 days .

The village was named after the Prussian Minister of State Christoph Friedrich von Derschau .

Großderschau and its current districts have belonged to the Ruppin district in the Prussian province of Brandenburg since 1817 and to the Rathenow district in the GDR district of Potsdam from 1952 . They have been in the Havelland district in Brandenburg since 1993.

In 1939 Friedrichsdorf and Großderschau were merged to form the Friedrichshof community. The community name was changed to Großderschau with effect from June 1, 1951. On July 1, 1965 Friedrichsbruch, on May 1, 1974 Alt Garz and Rübehorst were incorporated into Großderschau.
