Location of the Seeblick community in the Havelland district | ||
The municipality of Seeblick is located in the west of the Havelland district ( Brandenburg ). It is administered by the Rhinow Office.
geography
Seeblick is north of Rathenow , east of the Havel and south of the Rhinower Ländchen on the banks of the Hohennauener See .
Community structure
The community consists of the districts Hohennauen , water soup , Witzke , the inhabited part of the municipality Elslaake and the residential area Kohlhof.
history
The area of the Seeblick municipality was settled by Slavs in the early Middle Ages . Between the towns of Elslaake and Witzke is the Hohennauen-Witzke castle wall , the remains of a Slavic castle wall from the 7th to 9th centuries. The former wall and moat are still recognizable from the former site .
The districts of water soup and Witzke were first mentioned in a document in 1441 in a loan letter from the von der Hagen family .
The village of Hohennauen was built around 1200 over a Slavic complex. Hohennauen Castle, first mentioned in 1386, stood here. This secured the Rhinow region to the south since the end of the 12th century. The village was owned by the Margraves of Brandenburg until 1350, then the Counts of Lindow-Ruppin and the Bishops of Brandenburg. After that, the von Stechow and Friesack families owned the village. The von der Hagen family had owned Hohennauen since 1486. The castle was completely dilapidated after the Thirty Years War, and the manor house of the von Bornstedt family was built on the ruins.
In the 17th century, the Hohennauen manor was divided into four parts. From 1692 Johann Gottfried von Rauchhaupt owned a part . The other parts were united under the von Hagen family. From 1692 and 1731 there were two manors. Between 1781 and 1802 the goods with water soup, Witzke, Schönholz and Elslake were majorized . From 1802 to 1945 the estate remained in the possession of the Kleist von Bornstedt family. The local von der Hagen family also built a manor house in the village.
Hohennauen, water soup and Witzke belonged to the Westhavelland district in the Prussian province of Brandenburg since 1817 and to the Rathenow district in the GDR district of Potsdam from 1952 . Since 1993, the places have been in the Havelland district in Brandenburg.
The Seeblick municipality was created on December 31, 2001 from the voluntary amalgamation of the previously independent municipalities of Hohennauen, Wassersuppe and Witzke.

- Hohennauen Castle, original half-timbered building, later rebuilt as a single-storey three-wing complex with farm buildings. The castle was considerably redesigned under the rule of Hans Ehrentreich von Bornstedt in 1778. After 1928 the building underwent major changes and was given the central elevation and served as a school.
- Water soup village church , a half-timbered building with a roof tower from 1756, rebuilt as a brick building in the 19th century. The wooden pulpit altar from 1703 comes from Johann Christoph Richter, the pulpit from the early 15th century.
